West Bengal Launches First Multi-Sport Training Ecosystem Including Pickleball
Amuzi SportsTech launched West Bengal's first multi-sport training ecosystem on March 21 at Eco Creek, Joka, with pickleball among eight disciplines backed by the Bengal Pickleball Association.

Amuzi, a SportsTech organisation, announced the launch of West Bengal's first-ever multi-sport training facilities on March 21, 2026, covering tennis, pickleball, handball, shootingball, volleyball, futsal, basketball, and martial arts at Eco Creek, Joka, a venue that already runs motorsports, adventure biking, and 4x4 car rally training. The announcement was made during a press conference at Calcutta South Club.
Eco Creek is a resort combining relaxation facilities with open areas and water bodies, positioning itself as the setting for both intense training and recovery across disciplines. The initiative aims to build a comprehensive sports ecosystem catering to both emerging and professional athletes across multiple disciplines, moving beyond conventional sports infrastructure.
Pickleball sits at the centre of the new-age sports push within the ecosystem. Aditya Khanna highlighted the sport's growing foothold, stating that "this kind of training centre for pickleball is very much needed in a state like West Bengal," and announced that multiple international-level pickleball tournaments and top tennis tournaments would be held at the facility, including coaches training and masterclasses. Rajiv Ghosh, Director of Amuzi Sports, added that the organisation is also launching India's first dedicated OTT platform and TV channel exclusively for sports broadcasting.
Renowned motorsports personality Uday Ganguly attended the event and underscored the need for structured training across sports categories, noting that public awareness of motorsports as a legitimate competitive discipline remains limited.
On the pickleball side, the Bengal Pickleball Association (BPA) serves as the organised backbone connecting the broader ecosystem to grassroots development in the state. Since its inception, BPA has been actively organising tournaments, training programs, and workshops to foster talent at the grassroots level, operating as a member of the national and international pickleball community with a mission to bring pickleball to the forefront of sports in the region. BPA's services span referee certification programs, end-to-end tournament management at local, state, and national levels, skill development for players from beginner to advanced, assistance establishing pickleball academies, and initiatives to introduce the sport in schools and youth communities.
BPA operates under the guidance of President Mr. Vineet Bhandari and Secretary Manish Sikri, supported by a team of committed volunteers. Bhandari also holds roles as co-owner of the Kolkata Thunderbolts volleyball team and principal owner of the Delhi Panzers handball team, bringing cross-sport franchise experience to the association's leadership.
On the equipment front, God of Sports has signed a 3-year deal with BPA as the Official Equipment Partner. HEAD Pickleball has also been confirmed as a brand partner, with the dual arrangement described as a major step toward providing top-notch equipment to Bengal's finest pickleball players and ensuring peak performance on court. For court bookings, BPA's venue partner TurfXL operates out of 48 SN Roy Road, Kolkata 700038, with bookings available at turfxl.in.
Kolkata hosted its first DUPR-certified tournament as recently as November 2024 at the Ballygunge Arena, offering players Bengal State rankings and entry into the National Tournament. The Amuzi ecosystem announcement, paired with BPA's expanding partnership structure and the promise of international tournaments at Eco Creek, signals that the infrastructure conversation in West Bengal is moving well past the introductory stage.
