Panola Deputies Release Suspect Photo After Dollar General Robbery, Seek Tips
Deputies released an image after a suspect wearing a hoodie and face mask forced Dollar General employees to open the safe around 10 p.m. Thursday and fled in a grey car.

“Deputies in Panola Co., Miss. are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery, they say happened Thursday night at a Dollar General,” the Panola County sheriff’s office said in a release that included a photo of the person sought.
Authorities say the suspect “was wearing a hoodie and a face mask, entered the store around 10 p.m. and made the employees open the safe, from which the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money.” Deputies circulated that image to ask the public for tips and to help identify the individual captured in the photo.
After taking the cash, deputies report the suspect “left the scene in a grey-colored car heading west on Highway 6.” The vehicle description contains no make, model, or plate number in the release, and deputies have not supplied further identifying details of the car.
An original report published Feb. 20, 2026, adds that the suspect “brandished a weapon” during the incident and “fled with cash.” That phrasing has not been expanded in the sheriff’s office release available to the public, and deputies have not released a dollar amount taken from the safe.

No store address within Panola County was provided in the law enforcement notice, and the releases contain no suspect name, age, sex, race, or other physical descriptors beyond the hoodie and face mask. Deputies have not reported any arrests or provided information on whether employees were physically harmed during the robbery.
The sheriff’s office provided the image under the credit line “Courtesy: Panola Co. Sheriff’s Office.” Deputies directed anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers of Panola County; “If you have any information on this crime, call Crime Stoppers of Panola County at 662-209-2011,” the release states.
Investigators are seeking leads and have asked the public to report tips that could identify the person in the image or the grey vehicle seen heading west on Highway 6. The sheriff’s office photo and the Crime Stoppers line remain the primary avenues for turning up information as the probe continues.
