Video Shows Rats Scurrying Through McDonald's Inside California Walmart
Three massive rats were filmed scurrying across the kitchen floor of a McDonald's inside a Dinuba, California Walmart; the restaurant remains closed.

A video showing three large rats running freely across the kitchen floor of a McDonald's inside a Walmart Supercenter in Dinuba, California has prompted the immediate closure of the restaurant, with Walmart saying corrective measures are underway.
The footage, shot by a mall patron identified only as Jesse and aired on ABC 30, shows the long-tailed rodents creeping out from under a counter and moving rapidly across the kitchen floor. At one point, the rats appear startled by a noise and scatter deeper into the kitchen. The exact date and time the video was recorded remain unclear.

Walmart confirmed the closure in a statement given to ABC 30. "We are aware of the concern raised and take matters like this very seriously," the company said. "Upon being notified, the restaurant was immediately closed, and facility and service partners were engaged on-site to assess the situation and implement appropriate corrective measures." A Walmart employee separately told the New York Post that the McDonald's remains closed.
Several questions about the incident are still unresolved. No official statement from McDonald's corporate has been issued, and it is unclear whether the location is operated by a franchisee or falls under Walmart's direct management responsibility. The Dinuba health department has not been publicly identified as having conducted an inspection, and no pest-control service reports or corrective-action documentation have been released.
For workers at McDonald's locations inside retail stores, the incident highlights a jurisdictional gray area: when a health crisis hits a restaurant embedded within a larger retail footprint, accountability for inspections, closures, and remediation can fall across multiple corporate chains. Whether local health authorities in Fresno County will weigh in with formal citations or inspection findings at the Dinuba location is the next development to watch.
