Taco Bell Launches Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider for $2.49

The Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider is smaller than a standard Crunchwrap, costs $2.49, and lands at Taco Bell locations nationwide tomorrow, March 19. The item packs marinated, all-white-meat chicken nuggets coated in tortilla chip breading into a warm flour tortilla with a three-cheese blend, freshly prepared pico de gallo, and a customer's choice of Creamy Chipotle or Jalapeño Honey Mustard sauce, then wraps and grills the whole thing.

Taco Bell announced the item from Irvine, California on March 17, framing it alongside a companion menu move: the Cantina Chicken Rolled Quesadilla, which moves from limited-time to permanent status and now features slow-roasted Cantina Chicken. The company says the permanent version delivers twice the chicken of the original Cantina Chicken Quesadilla.

The Slider's path to the national menu ran through Nashville, Tennessee, where Taco Bell tested the item at select stores last fall, according to The Takeout. The Crunchwrap Slider format itself is not new to the chain; The Takeout notes the concept dates to 2014, suggesting the format has enough staying power to keep cycling back into rotation.

One small discrepancy worth noting for anyone who saw early coverage: The Takeout listed Sriracha Chile as the alternate sauce option alongside Creamy Chipotle, while Taco Bell's official press release specifies Jalapeño Honey Mustard. March 19 brings more than just chicken.
