Target Expands Wellness Assortment 30 Percent and Hosts Events
Target announced on Jan. 7 a 30 percent expansion of its 2026 wellness assortment, adding thousands of new items across nutrition, supplements, functional beverages, active apparel and wearable tech. The move, which includes many products priced under $10 and a refreshed Wellness Hub, aims to drive discovery and affordability for guests and will affect store operations during in-store promotions and two nationwide sampling days.

Target unveiled a major push into consumer wellness on Jan. 7, saying it will expand its 2026 wellness assortment by roughly 30 percent and roll out new guest-facing programming designed to make wellness easier to find and afford. The company said the expansion includes thousands of new items, with a significant number priced under $10, new owned-brand and exclusive launches, and an updated Wellness Hub on Target.com and in the Target app.
The assortment spans nutrition and supplements, functional beverages, active apparel, and wearable tech. Target also outlined in-store activations timed to drive traffic and trial, including a “Wellness Week” of promotions and two nationwide sampling events: Good & Gather sampling taking place today, Jan. 10, and All in Motion and Embark sampling scheduled for Jan. 17. Both sampling days run 12–4 p.m. local time while supplies last.
For front-line workers, the expansion and activations will translate into near-term operational impacts. Store teams can expect increased merchandising duties as new items arrive and plan-o-gram adjustments are implemented. Sampling events historically require coordination among store leadership, food-safety compliance for prepared items, and additional coverage on the sales floor, which may affect scheduling and peak-hour staffing needs. Associates working fulfillment, curbside and same-day delivery will likely see changes in order mix and volume as new, lower-priced items drive impulse buys and quick replenishment.
The refreshed digital Wellness Hub and app experiences are also likely to change guest behavior, increasing online searches and in-store pickup requests related to the new assortment. Supply chain and distribution teams will be tasked with moving larger volumes of smaller-ticket items, and merchandising teams will monitor sell-through to refine assortments and pricing.
Target framed the expansion as an effort to broaden access to wellness through owned brands and exclusive items, supported by merchandising and digital touchpoints intended to boost discoverability and affordability. For employees, managers and store leaders, the next few weeks will focus on executing promotions, staffing sampling stations during the scheduled events, and integrating the new assortment into existing floor sets.
Workers should watch communications from store leadership and Home Office teams about inventory arrivals, updated displays and any temporary scheduling changes tied to Wellness Week and the two sampling days. Those operations will determine how smoothly the expanded assortment translates into customer sales and how much additional daily workload associates will experience.
