Trader Joe’s Signs as Anchor Tenant at Toro Development’s 43‑Acre Medley
Trader Joe’s will anchor Toro Development’s 43‑acre Medley in Johns Creek, joining Shake Shack and others in a 164,000‑square‑foot retail district that is now more than 75% leased.

Trader Joe’s has signed on as an anchor retail tenant at The Medley, a 43‑acre mixed‑use redevelopment at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road in north Fulton County, roughly 27 miles north of Atlanta. Toro Development Company is marketing the project’s 164,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space as the centerpiece of a district that is now reported to be over 75% leased and slated to open its initial phase around Halloween, with several outlets giving an Oct. 29, 2026 opening date.
New signings announced for Medley include Shake Shack, Kontour Medical Spa, Moop’s Boutique and Northern China Eatery, adding to a previously publicized lineup that features Sephora, High Country Outfitters, BODYROK, Petfolk, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Fadó Irish Pub, Summit Coffee, Five Daughters Bakery, Drybar Shops, Minnie Olivia Pizzeria and Clean Your Dirty Face. FultonNeighbor reported that Shake Shack will offer its made‑to‑order 100% Angus beef burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, hand‑spun shakes and house‑made lemonades, while National Today said Northern China Eatery’s Medley location will be its first outside the Perimeter.
Toro’s master plan for Medley includes 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space and a 25,000‑square‑foot public plaza alongside a large residential component and a boutique hotel. Most outlets describe the residential buildout as 833 luxury townhomes and apartments, though one report lists 883 units; the majority of coverage cites the 833 figure. The Hotel at Medley is described as a 150‑room boutique property expected to open in 2028.

Kimberly Goetz, vice president of leasing at Toro Development Company, framed the recent leasing momentum as validation of the project’s mix: “The latest retail momentum further cements Medley as a premier destination for fashion, wellness, dining and lifestyle experiences. As we surpass the 75% leased milestone, it’s clear that both national brands and local concepts believe in our vision of Medley as a connected and vibrant Third Place. The countdown to Grand Opening is on and we can’t wait for the Johns Creek community to experience the energy of Medley’s thoughtfully selected retail mix.”
Published coverage to date notes Trader Joe’s recent expansion in Georgia, including a store opening in Peachtree City, but does not include a Trader Joe’s statement with store size, hiring commitments or an exact Johns Creek opening date. Toro Development has set a public timeline that stages retail and residential openings in late 2026 with the hotel in 2028, leaving further details such as individual store footprints and job estimates to be confirmed as leasing and construction proceed.
