Grammy-Winning Laufey Brings Feminine Softness to 66°North Capsule Collection
Laufey and her twin sister Junia designed a brushed Icelandic wool cardigan and bonnet knit at 66°North's own Reykjavík factory.

Arc'teryx has held the crown of minimalist, design-led outerwear for long enough. 66°North, the Icelandic outerwear specialist with a century-long archive behind it, just made a credible play for that throne, and it came wrapped in brushed wool and navy contrast stitching.
The five-piece limited-edition capsule pairs 66°North's technical muscle with the soft, feminine aesthetic of Grammy-winning Icelandic musician Laufey, whose sound has always carried something delicate and precise, and whose design instincts, it turns out, run the same way. The collection reimagines core pieces from the brand's existing range rather than building from scratch, a choice that gives each garment a familiar silhouette pushed into softer, more playful territory than the serious alpine gear the premium outdoor category typically traffics in.
Laufey worked through the design process alongside her twin sister Junia and 66°North's creative team, drawing from three distinct wells: childhood imagery, Iceland's dramatic landscapes, and the brand's own century-deep archive. The result feels genuinely collaborative rather than celebrity-endorsed, each piece carrying a specific reference point rather than a vague "inspired by" credit.
The standout is the Long Shell Coat, a technical three-layer waterproof jacket with an adjustable waist belt, large flat pockets, and snap closures. It lands in black or stone colorways, both finished with navy contrast stitching that pulls the technical shell toward something more considered. The packable Polartec NeoShell hood handles wet conditions without adding bulk, a practical call given Iceland's climate. Campaign imagery shows Laufey and Junia wearing the coat together, which lands as a document of the collaboration rather than a staged fashion moment.

The rest of the capsule fills out with purpose. A waterproof Shell Bag carries a 10,000mm rating, competitive with gear aimed at serious trail use. A fitted graphic T-shirt features a tour-inspired clock graphic, the one piece that most directly signals Laufey's own world. Then there are the knit pieces: a brushed Icelandic wool cardigan produced at 66°North's Reykjavík knit factory and a matching bonnet made from the same yarn, the kind of material detail that separates a genuine capsule from a licensed slap-logo situation.
The premium outdoor market has spent years watching Arc'teryx set the tone for what technical outerwear can look like when it cares about design. 66°North's move here is different in kind, not just aesthetic: by bringing in a collaborator whose sensibility is rooted in softness and intimacy rather than altitude and performance, they've opened a lane that Gore-Tex-first brands haven't seriously competed in.
