Paleface Swiss Drummer Cassiano Toma Departs, Citing Mental Health and Touring Demands

Cassiano "Cassi" Toma has stepped down as drummer of Swiss deathcore band Paleface Swiss, with the split announced via the band's social media on March 26, 2026. Toma played his final show with the group the same night the news went public, closing out his tenure alongside his bandmates and fans before the drumming community had even finished reading the announcement.

Toma addressed the decision directly in a personal statement, making clear the split carried no animosity. "I want to share something personal with you all. I've made the decision to step down from the drum throne. And before anything gets lost in noise or speculation, please know this: this was a decision made together, with care, honesty, and love on all sides," he wrote. He was equally direct about the reason: "Lately, it's all become a little too heavy for me to carry the way I want to. I'm still navigating my mental health, and I've had to face the difficult truth that right now, I can't be the drummer this band deserves, or the person I want to be for myself."

The increasing demands of touring and performing were central to his decision, and Toma framed the departure not as a rupture but as a shared and considered conclusion. "There's no falling out, no bitterness. Only deep respect and a bond that will never fade," he wrote, adding that his years with the band were "some of the most beautiful, intense, and unforgettable moments of my life."

Toma's footprint on Paleface Swiss's recent catalog is substantial. He performed on the band's 2025 full-length Cursed and on The Wilted, a 2026 EP, contributing to both the studio recordings and the live stage that defined the band's current era.

The band's own farewell was brief and warm: "Goodbye Cassi, thank for everything, we love you forever." No replacement drummer has been announced.
