M2O 2026 Foil Race Registration Opens March 14, Entry Fees and Format Revealed
M2O foil registration opened March 14 at $400 base, with an unescorted option hitting $900 total — and Wing Foil slots are capped at just 25.

Registration for the 2026 Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championships FOIL event opened Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 a.m. HST, with the window set to close Sunday, April 5 at 11:59 p.m. HST — though organizers have already warned it may shut earlier if entries sell out.
The base entry fee for the FOIL event is $400, processed through Active. Athletes who want to race unescorted can do so for an additional $500, bringing the total to $900. Organizers were direct about where that surcharge goes: the extra fee "will offset the costs for more official safety boats as required by both permits and insurance." Unescorted athletes also receive gear transport to the finish line as part of that arrangement. One firm restriction applies: new applicants to M2O are not eligible to select the unescorted option, regardless of their broader foiling resume.
WING FOIL is capped at 25 entries for 2026, consistent with last year's allocation. SUP FOIL SOLO entries will also run at volumes "similar to last year," according to the official race information page. Given the field limits, the sell-out warning carries real weight. Anyone who misses the window or gets locked out after sell-out will be directed to the waitlist.
Registration splits into two categories at check-out: Past M2O Finisher and First-Time M2O Applicant. Regardless of which category applies, applicants are instructed to "include substantial race history and experience when prompted" — a reminder that M2O treats the 32-mile Kaiwi Channel crossing as a credential check, not just a transaction.

The FOIL edition is tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026, with the Prone SUP event following on Sunday, July 26. Packet pickup runs across two windows: Saturday, July 18 at the Molokai Community Health Center, held alongside the Molokai Holokai events, and Sunday, July 19 at the Kaluakoi Resort near the race start, during the pre-race dinner and safety meeting. Athletes will pick up two race number stickers for both sides of their boards, two stickers for escort boat hulls if applicable, and a color-specific race jersey.
With the Wing Foil cap at 25 and organizers explicitly flagging early sell-out risk across all categories, the April 5 deadline is effectively a ceiling rather than a safety net.
