Cortez Summer Job Fair Set for March 20 at Recreation Center

Four days remain to prepare for the City of Cortez's annual Summer Job Fair, which runs Friday, March 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 Roger Smith Ave. The three-hour window gives job seekers a direct shot at seasonal and year-round positions supporting city services, outdoor recreation, and community programs before the summer season ramps up.

The fair highlights four categories of openings: Golf Course Workers, Summer Camp Staff, Lifeguards and the Aquatics Team, and Parks and Irrigation Maintenance staff. Several of those roles put workers outside maintaining city infrastructure or running youth programs, and all of them feed into departments that keep Cortez running through its busiest months.

On-site applications are available at the event, so attendees can walk in, meet department supervisors and hiring managers, and submit paperwork the same day. The fair is also structured for people who want to dig into the details before committing: attendees can explore pay, benefits, and job expectations directly with hiring staff, and learn about certifications and training opportunities tied to specific roles.
