Alaskan Malamute Wins Best in Show at Oakland Kennel Club in Woodland
GCHG Seven In A Raw De Laouen Ki, an Alaskan Malamute handled by Mike Stone, took Best in Show at the Oakland Kennel Club in Woodland, CA on March 21.

GCHG Seven In A Raw De Laouen Ki claimed Best in Show at the Oakland Kennel Club's March 21 show in Woodland, California, with judge Mrs. Debbie Campbell-Freeman making the call that put an Alaskan Malamute at the top of the Working Group competition.
Handler Mike Stone piloted the win for a four-person ownership group: A. Star, M. Stone, D. Faivre, and G. Cadoret. The Malamute's registered name carries the GCHG prefix, reflecting a championship record built across multiple shows before Saturday's Best in Show honor.
At the breed level, the Alaskan Malamute class drew a competitive entry. Under judge Mr. Adrian W. Woodfork, GCHP CH Vykon's Saucin' I Do This Often-A'Mahya ATT took Best of Breed, with Seven-In A-Raw De Laouen Ki earning Best of Opposite Sex before going on to claim the show's top prize. GCHS CH Tru North's He Said He Was Gonna Call CGC took Select Dog, and CH Cause I'm A Real Shamanrock received the Award of Merit. The breed entries also included GCHB CH Edgend's Allegro Con Brio RI, CH Whitewalker Volantis RN FDC SWN CGC TKI ATT, GCHB CH Dragonmyst Winter Stormborn, and GCHS CH Peace River's All You Knead Is Love, among others.

Elsewhere in the Working Group breeds, the Rottweiler class under Mrs. Faye Strauss saw GCHG CH Cammcastle's National Anthem V. Sanguino take Best of Breed, while Ms. Judy A. Harrington awarded the Standard Schnauzer Best of Breed to GCHG CH Morgenwald's Reach For The Sky V Katon. Mrs. Faye Strauss also presided over the St. Bernards, where GCHS CH Heart Mountain's Bodacious At Sapphire Mountain BCAT went Best of Breed.
For the Malamute community, the Best in Show result marks a significant moment for the De Laouen Ki line, whose entry in Woodland beat out a full field to earn the show's highest honor under Campbell-Freeman's eye.
