A German Shorthaired Pointer built for speed, stamina and prey drive is the kind of dog SpotOn had in mind for its Nova GPS Collar, and Amazon Pet Days took $50 off the price, dropping the system to $949 from $999. For owners who want more freedom without giving up control, that is the central appeal.

Amazon Pet Days ran May 11 through May 15, expanded to five full days for the first time and now in its fifth year. Amazon said the sale covered thousands of deals across pet food, treats, toys, grooming supplies, health care products and more, with brands including Purina, Blue Buffalo, Hill’s Science Diet, IAMS, Outward Hound, Greenies and Chuckit!.

SpotOn says Nova is its newest GPS dog fence edition, built from more than 5 million hours of real-world dog movement data and designed for GPS containment and real-time alerts. The company says the system uses True Location technology, includes no required subscription for core fence functions, and comes with free U.S. shipping, a one-year warranty and 90-day returns. SpotOn also says the fence is proven to prevent escapes 99.3% of the time, while optional GPS tracking plans are available monthly, yearly or for two years.

The value case is strongest for dogs that do not just roam, but commit. A 2024 survey study found wildlife, cats and other dogs were the most frequently chased targets, which fits the same problem SpotOn is trying to solve for rural properties, large yards and dogs that test boundaries at every opening. For that crowd, a GPS fence is not a gadget so much as a way to keep outdoor time from turning into a search party. The $50 cut does not make Nova cheap, but it does make a premium containment tool slightly easier to justify for the kind of dog that can outrun a standard yard and still have energy left over.
