Chase, a one-year-old English Cocker Spaniel with what JLT's community describes as a "big personality," won a neighbourhood-wide nomination contest to become Jumeirah Lakes Towers' first-ever Chief Dog Officer, the Dubai district announced via its Instagram account @jltbydmcc.

The title of Chief Dog Officer, or CDO, is not ceremonial window dressing. Chase's official duties include welcoming new dogs and their families to JLT, encouraging friendly behaviour at the dog park and other shared spaces, scouting and showcasing pet-friendly cafes and walking routes, appearing at neighbourhood events, and supporting local pet businesses. As Gulf News put it, "he's the ultimate community ambassador with four paws."

JLT, which is developed and managed by DMCC, opened the nomination process to all locals, asking entrants to submit a photo and a short note explaining why their dog deserved the title. The deadline ran until November 30, and the response, according to Gulf News, was described simply as "huge." The final winner was determined through a combination of public voting and review with community partners. After that process concluded, Chase pulled ahead of the field. "His playful spirit and love of life made him the perfect pick," Gulf News reported.

Chase's first official act in the role was inaugurating JLT's new dog park in Cluster V. The park, which opened as part of DMCC's push to expand lifestyle amenities across the mixed-use neighbourhood, features a secure gated space, open exercise areas, agility obstacles, and a dedicated dog water fountain. It runs daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

JLT has positioned the CDO appointment alongside the Cluster V park as twin signals of its intent to be regarded as one of Dubai's most pet-friendly neighbourhoods. The initiative recognises, in the words of Gulf News coverage, "how much pets mean to the people who live and work here." Chase's neighbourhood adventures are being documented on Instagram at @jltbydmcc, where JLT's community channels also run across Facebook, TikTok, and X.
