Kennel Club of Philadelphia Donates $100,000 to AKC Canine Health Foundation

The AKC Canine Health Foundation announced in a March 2, 2026 GlobeNewswire release that The Kennel Club of Philadelphia donated $100,000 to CHF’s Greatest Need Fund. The release said, “The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) is proud to announce the Foundation has received a $100,000 donation from The Kennel Club of Philadelphia (KCP) to advance the health of all dogs,” and added, “This generous gift will go towards CHF’s Greatest Need Fund to support the Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of all dogs through knowledge and discovery.”

CHF framed the gift as part of a long relationship with KCP, noting in the March 2, 2026 text that “Through more than a decade of generous giving from KCP, CHF has been able to fund a number of impactful research grants,” and cited a specific example: a study by Dr. David Needle into a canine respiratory disease that emerged and spread in 2022, affected some dogs severely, and “didn’t respond to normal treatments,” which CHF said it was able to address more quickly because of prior support from KCP.

The foundation’s March 2, 2026 release placed the gift in organizational context, noting CHF was founded in 1995 and stating, “With more than $75 million in funding to date, the Foundation provides grants for the highest quality canine health research and shares information on the discoveries that help prevent, treat and cure canine diseases.” That release also said CHF holds the “highest four-star Charity Navigator rating and Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.”
