USDAA opens 2027 Team USA applications for Verona world championship

USDAA opened applications for the 2027 Team USA roster on June 24, giving agility handlers a direct route toward the IFCS World Agility Championship in Verona, Italy. The federation said the application form is already posted, and the championship is set for April 27 to May 2, 2027, under Federazione Italiana Sport Cinofili.

That makes this more than a routine notice. The open window is the first public step in USDAA’s team-building process for Verona, and it tells competitors that the clock on 2027 has already started. For serious teams, that means planning around training, travel, trial choices, and the documentation and performance records USDAA expects to see before selections are finalized.

The timing fits the way the international pipeline has been moving. IFCS said its 2026 World Agility Championship in Godella, Valencia, Spain, drew a record number of competitors from 14 countries, and the closing ceremony ended with the flag transfer from Spain to Italy. That handoff formally pointed the next world championship to Verona and gave the U.S. selection cycle a fixed target on the calendar.

USDAA’s own schedule shows the championship as part of its recurring international event calendar, underscoring that this is not a one-off trip but a regular destination for elite U.S. agility. The comparison with the previous cycle is telling as well: USDAA opened 2026 Team USA applications on September 10, 2025, then introduced the selected 2026 roster on February 23, 2026. The new 2027 window opened even as the broader elite pathway was already moving, with the AKC World Agility Team tryout calendar posting 2027 regional qualifiers on June 16, 2026.

For handlers with an eye on Team USA, the message is clear. Verona is locked in, the application form is live, and the long build toward late April 2027 is underway now, not later.
