Commander creators raise $27,000 for The Trevor Project through charity events

Blue Collar Commander and Commander Sealed pushed their Trevor Project fundraising past $27,000. EDHREC's June 24 Community Corner Creator Spotlight centered on that total.

Blue Collar Commander started creating content in December 2024, but the channel and its collaborators helped raise more than $17,000 for The Trevor Project in their first year. This month, work with more than 30 other creators added another $10,000-plus to that total. Blue Collar Commander calls itself “Magic from the working class” and builds around giveaways and fundraisers as much as gameplay.

The money went to The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people. The nonprofit offers crisis support 24/7/365 by text, chat, and phone. The Trevor Project directly served more than 231,000 crisis contacts in 2024.

Commander Sealed has been running since 2018, and its 2026 creator list included Blue Collar Commander after naming the channel last year’s top content creator. The 2026 event is scheduled for September 18-20 at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Rochester, New York, with a Friday welcome party, Saturday main event, and Sunday side events. The side-event lineup includes creator clashes, a Commander Party, and a Pride-themed partner Commander event.

The 2024 Commander Sealed event drew more than 400 players from dozens of states, along with more than two dozen artists and vendors, at Just Games. The 2025 fundraiser then jumped to more than $104,000 total for The Trevor Project and Trans Lifeline.
