Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes gets full Arena release in 2026

Wizards is giving Marvel Super Heroes the kind of Arena treatment Commander players actually want: the full paper-style set arrives on MTG Arena on June 23, 2026, with preorders opening June 2, and the four Commander decks’ face and featured commanders will be craftable right away. That matters because the platform’s Brawl format is the closest thing Arena has to Commander, so this rollout gives paper-first players a real way to sleeve up Marvel legends, check card text, and see which support pieces are worth chasing before the tabletop release on June 26.

The big shift is that Wizards is not repeating the Omenpaths workaround. Marvel Super Heroes will not have a Through the Omenpaths digital counterpart, and Wizards has said the same full-Marvel policy will apply to future Marvel sets. The company also scheduled a June 16 update for Spider-Man on Arena, replacing the Omenpaths versions in client with the actual Marvel cards. For Commander players, that cuts out the awkward translation layer and makes the set easier to read at a glance, especially when the same legendary creature has to be tracked across paper, Brawl, Historic, and Timeless.

The Arena release also covers more than the Commander decks. Cards from the Jumpstart product, the Beginner Box, and the Scene Boxes will be represented digitally, even though the physical Beginner Box and Scene Boxes themselves will not be on Arena. That gives players a cleaner way to preview the wider ecosystem around the crossover, from support cards to smaller entry products, without having to guess how the whole package fits together. Wizards’ broader Marvel rollout looks built to teach the set before it hits kitchen tables, not after.

That teaching job started months ago. Wizards first laid out the digital policy in April 2025, then previewed Marvel Super Heroes with Captain America, The Sentry, Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk, Quicksilver, Doctor Doom, Baron Helmut Zemo, and Super-Skrull in December. The Commander face commanders for the Fantastic Four deck are Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch, and The Thing, a line-up that gives the set a clear identity before the first paper copies hit play. Add the Avengers Academy events running June 12-18 at participating WPN stores in the United States and Canada, prerelease on June 19, and a 2026 schedule that includes seven Magic sets, and the message is hard to miss: Arena is now part of how Wizards introduces Commander players to a crossover, not an afterthought bolted on later.
