The Professor brings Commander strategy meet-and-greets to MagicCon Vegas
The Professor turned MagicCon Vegas into a Commander stop, with May 1-3 meet-and-greets built around strategy talk, the Command Zone, and Strixhaven energy.

The Professor brought Commander strategy straight into MagicCon Vegas, turning his May 1-3 appearance into a practical stop for players who wanted more than a quick photo. The Tolarian Community College creator said his sessions would center on theoretical Commander strategy, making the weekend a fit for anyone who cares about tuning a 100-card list, reading a table, and thinking a turn ahead.
MagicCon: Las Vegas 2026 ran from May 1-3 in Las Vegas and leaned hard into Strixhaven University. Badges opened the door to the show floor, panels, the Command Zone, Creator Central, and meet-and-greets, which made the event feel built for Commander players from the start. Wizards of the Coast also noted that some meet-and-greet and signing-stage events were first-come, first-served, so the difference between getting in and missing out came down to showing up early.
The Professor promoted the appearance in a YouTube Community post and video description, telling fans, “Class is in session in Las Vegas this year at MagicCon,” and inviting them to join him May 1-3 for the weekend. For Commander fans, that mattered because Tolarian Community College is not just another creator presence. Its YouTube channel bills the brand as the #1 Magic: The Gathering channel, built around product reviews, gameplay tips, lore, strategy, and analysis, which gives the meet-and-greet real weight for players looking for specific advice rather than general hype.

The timing also lined up with Pro Tour Secrets of Strixhaven, which took place at MagicCon: Las Vegas from May 1-3 and was streamed on Twitch and YouTube. That put high-level competitive Magic and creator-driven Commander content under the same roof, a combination Wizards has used before at MagicCon by emphasizing the Command Zone as a place for fans to play Commander in different variants and styles while also interacting with featured creators.
For Commander players, that is the real value of the Vegas stop. The Professor’s sessions were not just a celebrity sighting. They sat inside a convention weekend designed around Commander access, creator interaction, and a Strixhaven theme that gave the whole event a school-year flavor. If you wanted strategy talk with one of the game’s most recognizable voices, the Command Zone and Creator Central were the places to be.
