Vectis Auctions kicked off the first day of a two-day model trains sale on March 25, 2026, fielding hundreds of lots that swept across virtually every major scale and manufacturer in the hobby. The auction, run live online through the Auction Marketer platform, drew on material spanning European and North American brands from mass-market modern releases to vintage collectables.

Vectis holds 12 model train sales per year, covering all eras from vintage to modern and in all gauges. The March event stretched that reach even further, assembling a catalogue broad enough to pull in collectors on multiple continents.

The Day 1 lot list covered OO scale locomotives, rolling stock, and train sets from Bachmann, Hornby, Lima, Dapol, and Rapido Trains, alongside N gauge material from Peco, Hornby Minitrix, Dapol, and Graham Farish. HO gauge buyers could bid on lots from Bachmann, Roco, REE Models, Jouef, Electrotren, Riverossi, Fleischmann, and Liliput, with card model buildings and scenic components mixed in for layout builders. The catalogue extended further still into Hornby Dublo OO gauge, Triang, Bassett-Lowke vans and wagons, Mamod Live Steam and steam rollers, Berliner TT gauge, and a spread of controllers, accessories, and track.

That breadth across OO, N, HO, and TT gauge under a single roof is unusual even by Vectis standards. Established in 1988, Vectis is the world's largest toy auctioneer, serving customers in more than 60 countries. That global reach makes a two-day trains sale a genuine international marketplace, with bidders in continental Europe particularly well served by the HO gauge representation from Roco, Fleischmann, Jouef, and Liliput.

As a buyer, registered users can leave bids, bid live online, create a wishlist of favourite lots, sign up for customised keyword email alerts, get preferred recommendations, and view and pay invoices. Absentee bids are also accepted, with written bids rounded to the nearest increment and reviewable in the My Account area.

Bidders should note that Vectis's terms carry firm enforcement language. Submitting any bid is legally binding, though buyers do have the option to reduce a maximum bid to the current bid level; bid cancellation requests must be made prior to the sale date. All successful bids require immediate payment following the auction, and failure to pay could result in account suspension, a ban, or legal action.

Day 2 of the sale followed on March 26. Vectis has its saleroom at Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, and can be reached by phone at (+44) 01642 750 616 or by email at admin@vectis.co.uk for enquiries about results or consigning material.
