Parrot Stars summer festival blends big sales, education, and community fun

Parrot Stars used its 2026 Summer Festival weekend in Arlington Heights to pair discounted bird gear with education and shopping. The store's social post said the team was "ready" for the festival and stocked for "an incredible weekend," with the biggest sale of the year, 20% off the entire store and a buy-one-get-one section for toys.

The main festival ran July 18-19 at Parrot Stars in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and admission was free. That gave owners a chance to compare cage hardware, look over play trees and stock up on enrichment items without paying full price, while also taking in the event's education, special guests and other programming. The store pointed visitors to its website for the complete schedule.

The weekend also included Friday Night Dinner with the Parrot Wizard on July 17. Doors opened at 5:30 p.m., and dinner and the show ran from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets were $95 and included dinner, drinks and the Friday Night Parrot Wizard show, with sales beginning May 1.

Parrot Stars is listed by the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce at 115 N Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The chamber gives the store hours of Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For parrot owners, the draw was practical as much as social. The free festival turned a specialty bird store into a place to check gear in person, ask questions face to face and leave with supplies that fit birds that chew, climb and destroy toys fast.
