Joe's Pasta Fresca Brings Drive-Up Homemade Italian Food to Youngstown
Joseph Lucente, born and raised on Youngstown's West Side, opened a drive-up pasta window in Cornersburg where fresh pasta and sauce are made every single morning.

A drive-up window serving fresh homemade pasta opened Sunday in Cornersburg, and it's the kind of concept the Mahoning Valley hasn't seen before: pull up, order, and drive away with pasta and sauce made from scratch that same morning.
Joe's Pasta Fresca to go is a family business owned by Joseph Lucente, a West Side Youngstown native who has spent his whole life cooking. Sunday's opening marked the realization of something personal for Lucente, who said the neighborhood shaped him.
"I was actually born and raised here in the West Side of Youngstown. So just cause, you know, I ran around here as a little kid, but we just wanted to bring some fresh pasta. We make our closest fresh every morning. We make our sauce every morning," Lucente said.
The drive-up model is straightforward: customers pull their car directly to the window to place an order. No dining room, no waiting on a table. Just fresh Italian food made that morning, handed through a window. It is a format more common in coffee and fast food, and applying it to handmade pasta is what sets Joe's apart from anything else operating in the Cornersburg area right now.

The current schedule runs Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Mondays and Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. Once Lent ends, the shop will drop Fridays from the rotation and add Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m., keeping the three-day-a-week cadence while shifting the midweek availability.
For anyone in the valley who has been looking for genuinely fresh pasta without the sit-down restaurant overhead built into the price, Joe's Pasta Fresca to go is worth finding in Cornersburg.
