Naples' Italian dining scene grows with two new restaurant openings

Two more Italian restaurants joined Naples' dining scene this summer, and Adoré Bar and Cucina was one of the clearest signs of how much room the market still has for the category. The East Naples spot took over the former Pelican Larry’s space on Davis Boulevard, adding another Italian room to a city that already runs deep with pizzerias, trattorias and polished neighborhood dining.

A June 23 item had already flagged Adoré’s Davis Boulevard opening, and by July 24 the restaurant was open in East Naples. That timing matters because it shows how quickly Italian openings can land and settle into a part of town where diners already have options.

Casa Cotzelli shows the other end of the same pattern. The restaurant says it has two Naples locations, one in East Naples and another in Island Walk, and builds its menu around handcrafted pasta, wood-fired pizzas and family recipes. That is a sharper pitch than a generic red-sauce room: pasta signals the kitchen is making a case for itself dish by dish, while the pizza oven gives the place a second lane.

The broader pace has been brisk enough to earn a separate Aug. 2 story on three Italian restaurant launches in the Naples area, a reminder that the category is not just holding steady but still expanding. East Naples, in particular, already gives diners multiple Italian choices, so a newcomer has to do more than simply open its doors. It has to claim a corner, a room and a reason for regulars to come back.

That is why the newest arrivals matter by format as much as by name. Adoré’s Davis Boulevard address gives it a built-in neighborhood identity in the former Pelican Larry’s shell. Casa Cotzelli, with its East Naples and Island Walk locations, pushes a pasta-and-pizza formula that is familiar enough to feel welcoming but specific enough to compete. In Naples, that combination is what keeps another Italian opening from disappearing into the crowd.
