Paizo previews Gen Con releases, third Pathfinder Adventure Path and new Starfinder book

Paizo Live! July 2026 is lining up a convention-season reveal around “all the new goodies coming out during Gencon,” including the third Pathfinder Adventure Path of the year and a new Starfinder book. For Pathfinder readers, that makes the stream less a hangout and more a release map for what may be worth preordering, budgeting for, or slotting into an early August demo plan.

The biggest Pathfinder tell is the third Adventure Path of 2026. Adventure Paths remain one of Paizo’s most reliable table-facing products, which means a new one can affect everyone from subscribers chasing the full monthly run to Game Masters deciding what campaign to launch next. A fresh AP usually sets the tone for tables that want a ready-made campaign, so the Gen Con preview is the kind of announcement that can move purchasing decisions before the books even hit shelves.

Paizo is also using the same stream to talk Starfinder, with a new Starfinder book in the mix. That matters because Paizo is not presenting Pathfinder and Starfinder as separate silos this time. It is bundling both lines into one convention beat, which gives collectors and subscribers a clearer picture of how much they may want to commit to across both systems. The timing is sharp. In a Jan. 21 Organized Play post, Paizo staff writer Alex Speidel said, “2026 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for Paizo,” and pointed to “Galactic Ancestries, new Pathfinder rulebooks, and tons of new adventures!” That promise now sits against a tougher company backdrop, after Paizo president Jim Butler said on June 8 that the publisher had been navigating “one of the most challenging periods in our company’s history” while staying committed to protecting the future of Pathfinder and Starfinder. The Gen Con preview is where those plans turn into actual products readers will decide whether to buy, play, or run next.
