Black Library Announces Special Edition of Rynn's World With New Introduction

Black Library has announced a Special Edition of Rynn's World, the Crimson Fists entry in the Space Marine Battles series, with a release date still to be confirmed but collector details already looking sharp.

The physical package is built around a cloth cover emblazoned with the Chapter's sigil, with embossed details throughout. The colour work is deliberate: "The classic dark blue of their armour is matched with deep crimson page edges and embossed details," according to the Warhammer Community announcement. It's the kind of design decision that actually makes sense for the source material rather than just being decorative trim. The edition also carries a new introduction by Black Library, though no credit has been given yet for who wrote it. Availability is limited to while stocks last, with no print run number published.

For anyone who hasn't read the original, Rynn's World first came out in 2010 and covers one of the most catastrophic single moments in recent 40k lore. Waaagh! Snagrod's assault on the Crimson Fists' home world was already a desperate fight, but a missile launch mishap detonated inside the Chapter's own fortress monastery, killing most of their warriors outright and turning the building into a crater. Chapter Master Kantor was left leading a scattered remnant with nowhere to fall back to, Orks burning the planet from pole to pole. The novel follows the Crimson Fists fighting what the announcement describes as "the campaign of their lives," with the Chapter's survival genuinely at stake.

The announcement was made on 11 March 2026 as part of the Black Library Celebration, which is also bringing further reveals this week, including a new Word Bearers novel featuring Zardu Layak. An official release date for the Rynn's World Special Edition has not been confirmed yet, with Warhammer Community flagging that more news is coming. Price, ISBN, and whether any signed or numbered copies will exist are all still unknown.
