Idaho Artistry in Wood Returns for 16th Annual Show at Boise's JUMP
Five Idaho wood-art clubs opened the 16th annual Idaho Artistry in Wood show today at JUMP's 5th floor, with woodturning, gourd art, CNC work, and a Saturday night live auction on the bill.

The 16th annual Idaho Artistry in Wood show opened its doors this morning at JUMP (Jack's Urban Meeting Place) on the 5th floor of 1000 W Myrtle St. in Boise, running today, Saturday March 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a second day Sunday March 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $5, with kids 12 and under getting in free.
The show brings together five Idaho wood-art clubs under a single organizing committee, with the Ada County Woodworkers Association serving as host club for 2026. That rotating host structure is baked into the event's governance: each year's host club nominates the committee chair for the following year's show, keeping organizational responsibility cycling through the membership rather than resting with any single group.
The competition floor spans a wide range of disciplines. Entries cover woodturning, woodcarving, fine furniture crafting, pyrography, intarsia, marquetry, scrolling, CNC work, gourd art, and what the show's official materials describe as "various other forms of wood art." Competitors enter across a full skill range, from Novice to Expert, and club membership is not required to participate. Live demonstrations and vendors are running alongside the judged competition, giving attendees a chance to watch technique in real time and pick up tools or supplies.

Beyond the competition floor, the show includes special exhibits, a featured artist, raffles, and a silent auction. Saturday night adds a live auction and dinner event. The Downtown Boise Association, which has listed the show in its events calendar, describes Idaho Artistry in Wood as one of the largest shows of its kind in the Western United States.
