Rachel Velez Launches Harmony Collective at 55 Bridge Street in Shelburne Falls
Rachel Velez opened Harmony, a yoga and movement collective at 55 Bridge St. in Shelburne Falls on Feb. 2, offering classes and local goods that aim to deepen community connection.

Harmony, a new yoga and movement collective founded by Rachel Velez, opened its doors at 55 Bridge Street in Shelburne Falls on Feb. 2, launching with Vinyasa flow, restorative yoga, meditation and contemporary dance classes. The studio operates as a collective model: Velez will teach some classes and collaborate with independent instructors to broaden offerings.
The space occupies the far right unit of the building that formerly housed the Jeremy Sinkus Glass Gallery; Sinkus moved his work to the Mill at Shelburne Falls, and Velez took over his lease. She found the unit after a long Craigslist search she described as a "serendipitous find," and moved to the village this past August. The studio was "virtually move-in ready" with recently refinished floors, and Velez added wall mirrors and a vibrant green accent wall to personalize the room.
Velez ties the studio's name to both music and balance, and frames Harmony as a place centered on community and healing. "I envision Harmony to be a collective where community can be nurtured," she said. The studio's site copy reinforces that message: "Harmony was born from Western Mass Native Rachel Velez. After teaching independently for years, Rachel was eager to create a space of her own for the community to gather," and "The vision of Harmony was and remains a space of movement, healing, and community." The site also invites visitors to "simply come as you are, and find your rhythm."
Practical details matter for anyone wanting to try a class. Harmony lists its location as 55 Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370, and directs prospective students to sign up for classes through the studio's website and social channels on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. The site indicates "classes throughout the week in different styles of yoga and movement" and notes future workshops will be added. It also features a small retail component offering local goods from farms, businesses and individuals, underscoring a buy-local emphasis.

Velez brings local roots and a dual professional life to the venture; a Greenfield native, she has taught independently for years and continues full-time work as an advocate for domestic violence survivors. "Community can come to move, whether that's through Pilates, dance or yoga," she said, pointing to plans to expand movement options beyond the initial class slate.
For Shelburne Falls, Harmony adds a small-business, community-focused venue for movement and gathering in a central Bridge Street storefront. Expect a growing schedule of classes, periodic workshops and a continued focus on local partnerships as Velez builds the collective in the months ahead.
