Squamish-Born Yoga Instructor Greta Dopp Joins Peloton's Growing Platform
Greta Dopp almost missed the Peloton DM that changed her life: "Thank god I checked my message requests!"

Peloton recruited Greta Dopp the way a lot of big opportunities arrive these days: through a direct message she nearly ignored. The 31-year-old yoga instructor from Squamish, British Columbia, admitted she initially assumed the outreach was a scam. "Thank god I checked my message requests!" Dopp said. It wasn't a scam. It was the start of a career move that has since taken her from the mountains of B.C. to an apartment in New York City, teaching yoga blended with sculpting and Pilates to Peloton members worldwide.
Dopp joined Peloton's instructor roster in November and began teaching classes on the platform in early December, settling into her new life in New York around the same time. A Vitamagazine profile by Karen Kwan, published March 18, brought her story to a wider audience, framing her addition to the team as Peloton members "welcoming more of Canada into their world through their screens."
That Canadian identity is something Dopp carries deliberately into her classes. "There's a certain type of warmth and humility that Canadians have that I try to bring forward in my classes," she said. Growing up in Squamish and building her practice there, she described feeling a strong responsibility to represent that community on a platform that reaches members across the globe.
Her yoga roots run deep. Dopp has been practicing since 10th grade, and her teaching on Peloton reflects that foundation, blending traditional yoga with sculpt elements and Pilates. When it comes to her own fitness, she gravitates predictably toward what she teaches. High-intensity cardio, she has said plainly, is not her jam. Instead, she approaches cross-training by leaning into movement that feels good rather than grinding through sessions that don't. "I try to make it fun, maybe make it dance cardio, something more rhythmic-based," she said, adding that something as simple as hopping on a Citi Bike on a sunny New York day counts. "If it feels fun, it's a great way to sneak it in."
The self-described protein smoothie girl has found her footing quickly on one of the fitness world's most recognizable streaming platforms, and the Squamish community she carries with her is now reaching yoga mats well beyond British Columbia.
