Decatur County deputies seek missing Parsons man, last seen in Huntingdon

Decatur County deputies are asking for help finding Taylor Joseph Jones, 29, of Parsons, who was last known to be in the Huntingdon area about three weeks before the request went public. Investigators believe Jones may be driving a 2005 gray Pontiac Grand Prix, and they want anyone who has seen him or the vehicle to come forward immediately.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office said the public should call (731) 852-3703 with any information about Jones’s location, or dial 911 if the situation is urgent. Officials did not release additional details about why Jones was reported missing, whether foul play is suspected, or what led investigators to open the public search.

Jones’s listed residence in Parsons makes the case especially important in a county where word of mouth often travels quickly between small towns, rural roads, and workplaces that serve more than one community. Decatur County had a population of 11,435 in the 2020 census, while Parsons is a small town of 2,686, so a single missing-person notice can ripple through neighborhoods, stores, job sites, and church parking lots fast.

The last known sighting in the Huntingdon area also means the search may extend beyond Decatur County and involve anyone who travels regularly between west Tennessee communities.
