Fat Shack Burger Joint Nears Opening in Johns Creek, Awaiting Final Approvals
Fat Shack, the Shark Tank-backed burger chain with 30+ U.S. locations, is fully built out at 11105 State Bridge Rd in Johns Creek, awaiting city sign-off to open.

A Fat Shack location in Johns Creek is finished and sitting idle, fully constructed inside Suite 360 at 11105 State Bridge Road, with one thing standing between it and its first customer: final sign-off from the city.
Owner Videsh Kumar said the space is "fully built out and awaiting final city approvals," with the team prepared to open as soon as the outstanding municipal clearances come through.
Fat Shack is an American fast-casual restaurant chain founded in Fort Collins, Colorado, and it landed a national spotlight in May 2019 when founders Tom Armenti and Kevin Gabauer appeared on the Season 10 finale of ABC's "Shark Tank," where the chain's $22 million in lifetime sales impressed the panel enough to land a deal with Mark Cuban: $250,000 for 15% of the company. Overnight, the team received hundreds of franchise requests, accumulating over 3,000 within 48 hours of the episode airing.
As of September 2025, the chain had 31 corporate and franchise-owned restaurants across 14 states. The Johns Creek location, already listed on Fat Shack's website, would add Georgia's second outpost to that roster alongside an existing location in Acworth.
The staples of Fat Shack's menu have always been its "Fat Sandwiches," which draw their origins from the Grease Trucks at Rutgers University, alongside burgers, deep-fried desserts, chicken wings, and Philly cheesesteaks. Other offerings include milkshakes, mozzarella sticks, and deep-fried mac and cheese. All burgers are made with 100% Angus beef, served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and burger sauce on a toasted brioche bun.
The State Bridge Road address, situated within the Bridge Park Shopping Center, places Fat Shack in one of Johns Creek's busier commercial corridors. No opening date has been announced; Kumar's timeline hinges entirely on when the city issues its final approvals.
