Trader Joe’s and Shake Shack Join Johns Creek Medley Opening Oct. 29

Trader Joe’s and Shake Shack are among the newest tenants signing on for The Medley, Toro Development Company announced in mid‑February as the developer prepares for a late‑October debut at 11650 Johns Creek Parkway in Johns Creek. Citybiz Co and Toro’s release say Medley will celebrate a grand opening on October 29, 2026, and WhatNow tied the Trader Joe’s lease to that Oct. 29 opening date.

Construction on the Medley began in January, Atlanta News First reported, and a local broadcast transcript said “Phase one of Medley should be finished by October.” The project sits at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road on a site REBusinessOnline says “was once a suburban office hub for State Farm Insurance,” signaling a major land‑use shift for the corridor.

Project size and program metrics vary by source. Citybiz Co and REBusinessOnline describe the site as 43 acres, while Atlanta News First uses the less specific “over 40 acres.” Retail, restaurant and entertainment space is reported as 164,000 square feet by REBusinessOnline, Citybiz Co and WhatNow; Atlanta News First cites 150,000 square feet attributed to Johns Creek officials. Presentations from REBusiness and Citybiz list 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space and a 25,000‑square‑foot plaza as part of the plan.

Residential and hotel counts also differ across reporting. REBusinessOnline and WhatNow list 833 luxury townhomes and apartments, Citybiz Co lists 883 luxury residences, and Atlanta News First breaks the program into “over 100 townhomes and over 700 multifamily homes.” Multiple outlets identify a 150‑room or 150‑key boutique hotel; REBusinessOnline adds that the hotel is set to open in 2028.

Toro’s lease announcement names Trader Joe’s, Shake Shack, Kontour Medical Spa, Moop’s Boutique and Northern China Eatery as newly signed tenants. Citybiz described Shake Shack’s menu offerings as including “signature made‑to‑order 100% Angus beef burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, hand‑spun shakes and house‑made lemonades.” Previously announced concepts aggregated across reports include Sephora, High Country Outfitters, BODYROK, Petfolk, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Fadó Irish Pub, Summit Coffee, Five Daughters Bakery, Drybar Shops, Minnie Olivia Pizzeria, Clean Your Dirty Face and local concepts such as 26 Thai noted in a broadcast transcript.

Leasing momentum is a key part of Toro’s message. WhatNow cites the developer as saying Medley has “surpassed the 75% leased milestone.” Toro’s Kimberly Goetz, vice president of leasing, said in the release: “The latest retail momentum further cements Medley as a premier destination for fashion, wellness, dining and lifestyle experiences. As we surpass the 75% leased milestone, it’s clear that both national brands and local concepts believe in our vision of Medley as a connected and vibrant third place. The countdown to grand opening is on and we can’t wait for the Johns Creek community to experience the energy of Medley’s thoughtfully selected retail mix.”

Citybiz and REBusiness position Medley as a pedestrian‑focused “Third Place” for Johns Creek that combines retail, office, residences and a plaza. With construction under way and a developer‑announced Oct. 29, 2026 grand opening on the calendar, the corner of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road is set to reemerge from its former State Farm office identity into a mixed‑use center spanning roughly 43 acres, even as municipal and media reports continue to show small discrepancies in acreage, square footage and unit counts.
