Goochland County Names Mike Eutsey Deputy Building Official Starting March 16

Goochland County's Building Inspection Department added a new member to its management team this week, with Mike Eutsey officially beginning as Deputy Building Official on March 16 following a March 13 announcement from the county.

Eutsey fills the role vacated when Casey Littlefield moved up to Building Official on February 1, 2026. That internal succession left the deputy position open for roughly six weeks before the county settled on Eutsey to round out the department's leadership structure.

Littlefield offered a direct endorsement of the hire in the county's announcement. "Mike Eutsey brings a wealth of code knowledge, a strong work ethic, and excellent managerial skills to a very strong team of professionals in the Building Inspection Department," Littlefield said. "We are excited to have him join the management team!"

The county published a short biography of Eutsey alongside the appointment notice on its Building Inspection news page, though specific details about his prior experience, certifications, or professional background were not included in the public announcement. The appointment news appeared alongside other recent Building Inspection updates, including notices about a pending Energov permit and licensing software upgrade and information on residential building permit applications.

Goochland's Building Inspection Department handles permitting, inspections, and code compliance for construction and development activity across the county.
