Indianapolis Man Arrested After Found Living in Monroe County Home Without Permission
An Indianapolis man was found living inside a Shark Key home without permission after the owner returned to find a stranger inside on March 11.

A 55-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested after a Shark Key homeowner returned to their residence on the evening of March 11 to find a stranger had been living inside without any permission or invitation.
Christopher Lee Sickels was taken into custody following the discovery, which left the homeowner confronting an unfamiliar man settled inside their own property in the Shark Key neighborhood of Monroe County.
Sickels, who lists an Indianapolis address, had no apparent legal basis for occupying the residence. The homeowner's return that evening set off the chain of events that led to his arrest on March 11, 2026.
Shark Key is a small residential community situated along U.S. 1 near Key West, where many properties serve as vacation or seasonal homes, circumstances that can leave residences unoccupied for extended stretches and vulnerable to unauthorized entry.
No additional charges or details regarding how Sickels gained access to the property had been made publicly available as of this report.
