Islamorada's Florida Keys History Center Coordinator Tara Kahn Named Neighbor of the Week
Tara Kahn, who has called the Florida Keys home for more than 25 years, was named Keys Weekly's Upper Keys Neighbor of the Week.

Tara Kahn has spent more than a quarter century putting down roots in the Florida Keys, and her work preserving their history is now earning her community recognition. The membership coordinator at the Florida Keys History & Discovery Center in Islamorada was named the Upper Keys edition's Neighbor of the Week by Keys Weekly in its March 10 issue.
Kahn and her husband currently live on Plantation Key, where they have been part of the Upper Keys community for more than 25 years. Her path to the Florida Keys History & Discovery Center followed a varied career across the islands, with positions that included work with the Trading Post and with local physicians Dr. Darel Pruett and Dr. Sara Badano.
In her current role at the Islamorada museum, Kahn serves as the face of the center's membership program, connecting residents and visitors to the institution dedicated to documenting and sharing the history of the Florida Keys.

Keys Weekly launched the Neighbor of the Week feature to recognize community members who might otherwise go unnoticed in the publication's pages. "No matter how many individuals appear in the pages of each edition of Keys Weekly, there are always so many more of our community members who deserve to be recognized," the paper noted in introducing the series. The Upper Keys Weekly office is located at 89240 Overseas Highway, Suite 2, in Tavernier and can be reached at 305.363.2957.
The feature on Kahn highlights what the paper described as her long-standing ties to the Keys and her museum work, a combination that reflects the kind of institutional commitment that sustains small-community cultural organizations over time.
