The Florida Keys has exactly one sexual assault crisis center. On Thursday, April 16, that organization steps into one of Key West's most beloved public spaces.

Walk on White, the monthly art stroll that has transformed White Street into a cultural corridor since 1999, will dedicate its April edition to Christina's Courage and its ongoing "Every Image Counts" fundraising campaign, timed to Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The free event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. along White Street between Southard and United streets, with a central hub at the Fausto's parking lot. More than 20 galleries, studios, and businesses will open their doors, offering exhibit openings, creative demonstrations, live music, and food and drink throughout the evening.

Christina's Courage serves Monroe County as its sole provider of free, confidential sexual assault services, offering survivors crisis intervention, counseling, forensic examinations, and legal referrals with no requirement to report to law enforcement. The "Every Image Counts" campaign is actively raising funds to sustain and expand that work, and Thursday's stroll represents one of the organization's highest-profile public fundraising opportunities of the year.

Each Walk on White evening designates proceeds to a local nonprofit, and the WOW organization has increasingly used the event's reach as a platform for community causes. The series runs on the third Thursday of every month through May and is sponsored in part by the Monroe County Tourist Development Council.

The stroll covers an easily walkable stretch of White Street, and contributions to the "Every Image Counts" campaign can be made directly at christinascourage.com.
