Key West Man Sentenced for Child Pornography, Spared Time on Bestiality Charges

Jorge Tyler Perez, a Key West bartender who faced 15 felony counts after investigators say he used Snapchat to share child sexual abuse material and videos depicting bestiality, was sentenced Wednesday on the child pornography charge. A judge spared Perez additional prison time on the 14 remaining counts of sexual activities involving animals.

The case traces back to November 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to a Snapchat user uploading child sexual abuse material. As FDLE agents worked to identify the account, they discovered the same user had also posted videos of bestiality. Investigators traced both sets of material to Perez, then 28, who was working as a bartender in Key West.

In July 2025, FDLE agents executed a search warrant at Perez's residence, seizing his electronic devices. He was taken into custody and booked into the Monroe County Main Jail. The Key West Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations both assisted in the case, which was prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for Florida's 16th Judicial Circuit.

Perez had been charged with one count of possession of child sexual abuse material and 14 counts of sexual activities involving animals, all third-degree felonies. His arraignment had been scheduled for July 29, 2025.

The investigation was part of a broader FDLE operation targeting individuals who exploit children online, a statewide effort that Monroe County law enforcement has actively participated in alongside federal partners.
