Sloppy Joe's Foundation Seeks Monroe County Cat Face of Caturdays
Sloppy Joe's Foundation launched a Top Cat Contest on November 18 to select the official face of Caturdays 2026, offering the winning cat publicity and a $500 swag bundle for the owner. Monroe County residents can enter photos now and vote through December 31, a fundraiser that supports local people, animals, and community programs.

Sloppy Joe's Foundation opened its first Top Cat Contest on November 18, inviting cat owners to submit photos to represent Caturdays 2026. The contest asks entrants to submit up to three favorite photos of each cat. The public will be able to vote from December 1 through December 31, and the winner will be announced by January 6, 2026. The victorious feline will appear in promotional materials, social media and events tied to the foundation's year round fundraising program, while the owner receives a $500 swag bundle.
Caturdays has become a weekly tradition in Key West where participants who donate to the foundation receive signature cat ear headbands, a lighthearted symbol that helps raise funds for programs supporting the people who live and work in Key West. The foundation says its work benefits people, animals and causes that contribute to a compassionate, thriving community. At the contest launch, Jeff Allen, chairman of the Sloppy Joe's Foundation, framed the effort in the local spirit of the islands. "Caturdays are all about joy, generosity and the quirky spirit that makes Key West special," he said.
For Monroe County residents the contest is more than a chance at fame and prizes. It raises local funds and visibility for community based services that often supplement public programs. Community fundraising can help support animal welfare initiatives, neighborhood assistance and other services that contribute to public health and social well being, particularly for residents who rely on nonprofit partnerships to bridge gaps in care and resources.

The contest also reinforces community connection and local tourism appeal by celebrating a beloved island tradition. To enter, submit photos through the online entry form at sloppyjoesfoundation.org or follow @SloppyJoesFoundation on Facebook for updates. Voting is open to everyone during December, giving Monroe County neighbors and visitors alike a role in choosing a face that will represent the foundation's charitable work throughout 2026.
