Cannelton library schedules summer Mah-Jongg afternoons through August

The Perry County Public Library’s Cannelton Branch has set aside a string of summer afternoons for Mah-Jongg, giving residents a regular place to gather, play and spend time indoors. The sessions ran June 5 and June 19 from 1 to 3 p.m., and more were already planned for July 3, July 17 and July 31, followed by August 14 and August 28.

The schedule turns the branch into a steady community stop rather than a one-time event. By lining up dates through late August, the library created a predictable option for people who want a low-cost social outing without having to commit to a larger program or a full-day activity.

Space is limited, and the library asked interested residents to reserve a spot by calling 812-547-6028 or emailing agaynor@perrycountypl.org. That reservation system gives the Cannelton branch a way to keep the group manageable while making room for a set of players who can come back again and again over the course of the summer.
