The Perry County Public Library's Tell City Branch threw open its doors Thursday afternoon to introduce Kayla Morris, the library's newly appointed director, to the community she will now serve. The free open house ran from 3 to 5 p.m. at the branch on Tell Street, with refreshments on hand as residents stopped by to meet the woman taking the helm of one of Tell City's most central civic institutions.

Morris signaled from the outset that she sees the role as a collaborative one. "I am excited to work alongside the dedicated staff and the Perry County community as we write the next chapter for the library," she said.

Outside the professional sphere, Morris brings a well-rounded set of interests to Tell City. She enjoys reading, watching films, and attending live music events, and her dog Bebe, by the library's own description, qualifies as her most loyal supporter.
