Tell City McDonald’s offers free drinks to teachers, nurses on May 4
Teachers and nurses with valid school or healthcare IDs could stop at Tell City McDonald’s on May 4 for a free drink, part of a one-day Tri-State appreciation event.

Teachers and nurses with valid school or healthcare identification could get a free beverage at participating locally owned McDonald’s restaurants on Monday, May 4, with Tell City included in the Tri-State rollout. The offer covered any size soft drink, hot tea, iced tea or coffee, and it was limited to that day.
The same one-day gesture reached other nearby Indiana communities, including Evansville, Jasper and Vincennes, along with Henderson, Owensboro and Madisonville in Kentucky. For Perry County workers heading to or from school buildings, clinics or the hospital, the takeaway was simple: bring valid identification, walk in, and the drink was on the house.

The recognition landed in a county where education and health care remain highly visible parts of daily life. Perry Central Community Schools says its pathways include nursing and education professions, and Perry County Memorial Hospital is located in Tell City, putting both groups at the center of the local service network. In that setting, even a small perk at a familiar restaurant carried practical value and a clear sign of appreciation.

The timing also matched the opening day of Teacher Appreciation Week, which ran from May 4 through May 8 in 2026. Because the promotion was tied to a single day rather than a longer campaign, it functioned as a quick stop-in offer for people who spend their workdays in classrooms, clinics and exam rooms across Perry County and the surrounding Tri-State.
