Rockwall County residents are being invited to gather at Liberty Hall inside the Rockwall County Courthouse on Thursday, May 15, for Rockwall County Prays: One Nation Under God, a county-wide event built around prayer, reflection and community connection. The program is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with doors opening early, and organizers say it is free, open to the public and will include lunch.

The gathering is being framed as part of a wider call to rededicate the nation in prayer ahead of the United States’ 250th anniversary. Organizers say the event is inspired by 2 Chronicles 7:14 and is intended to emphasize humility, prayer and unity. Local pastors and speakers are expected to guide the program, while Blue Ribbon News said church leaders will join residents for encouragement, reflection and collective prayer.

The setting gives the event added weight. Liberty Hall is part of the Rockwall County Courthouse complex at 1111 East Yellowjacket Lane in Rockwall, a building used for major county business and public meetings. The county has previously used Liberty Hall for public open-house meetings tied to the Rockwall County Outer Loop project in 2023 and 2024, placing the prayer event in a space already familiar as a civic gathering point.

Rockwall County has also hosted other prayer-centered public moments in recent months. A Countywide Call for Prayer was held on January 1, 2025, following the swearing-in of newly elected county officials and deputy sheriffs at the Rockwall County Historic Courthouse. Then, on May 13, 2025, the Rockwall County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a resolution supporting a privately funded Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the historic courthouse.

That history helps explain why the May 15 gathering may draw attention beyond church circles. Rockwall United, a collaboration of pastors and church leaders focused on community engagement, encouragement and unity, reflects an existing network of faith leaders in the county. With the courthouse once again serving as the backdrop, the event places a faith-centered program at the center of county life at a time when Rockwall residents are being asked to consider both civic identity and shared tradition.
