Rockwall fundraiser raises $231,553 for Pregnancy Resource Center services

Rockwall supporters raised $231,553 for Pregnancy Resource Center services, money that could help keep free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, nurse consultations, Medicaid referrals and material support available to families facing an unplanned pregnancy. The center says it serves more than 1,400 clients a year and records more than 2,300 client visits annually, a level of demand that makes donor support central to its day-to-day work.

The nonprofit says it is the only free clinic serving the surrounding communities with pregnancy-related services, and it says it is 100% donor funded. That means the fundraiser’s total goes directly toward services the center offers at no charge, including parenting education and spiritual support. Organizers also tied the event to Jeremiah 1:5, underscoring the center’s life-affirming message.

The Rockwall location at 1010 Ridge Rd., Rockwall, TX 75087, is temporarily closed because of construction, even as the organization continues to frame Rockwall County as a key part of its footprint. The center’s website identifies Executive Director Joanne Vuckovic, Clinic Director Kristi Helmer, Director of Operations Laura Grey, Director of Development Laura Jacobs, Social Media Director Gabbie Behrend and Administrative Assistant Debbie Faires on its staff list.

The center also says it needs volunteers, especially Spanish-language interpreters and other helpers who can support client care and special events. Its volunteer page lists client coordinators, nurse volunteers and special events assistants as needed roles, while its BrightCourse program gives participants points earned through classes that can be redeemed for brand-new diapers, car seats and cribs. That kind of hands-on support is part of how the center says it extends care beyond the exam room.

Fundraising remains a major part of the nonprofit’s operation in Rockwall and beyond. Its fall event is the Celebrate Life banquet, and it also relies on a spring Walk for Life and baby bottle campaigns to raise money. The center says it has served the community since 2000, and its impact reporting through 2018 included professions of faith and babies saved, a history that helps explain the organization’s growing local footprint as construction continues at the Rockwall site.
