Rockwall’s San Jacinto Music Series returns with free summer concerts
Downtown Rockwall will host 43 free concerts from May through October, with shows set for Friday and Saturday nights from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Downtown Rockwall is set for a summer of weekend foot traffic as the San Jacinto Music Series returns with 43 free concerts at San Jacinto Plaza, running Friday and Saturday nights from May through October. The 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. schedule will draw families, couples and visitors into the heart of the city, where nearby restaurants and shops are likely to benefit from the steady evening crowd.
The City of Rockwall says the 2026 season marks the 12th year of the series, which it describes as one of its most beloved concert offerings. The April city newsletter says the atmosphere is laid-back in historic Downtown Rockwall, and the plaza is set up with tables and chairs for patrons who want to settle in for the evening. The city also says guests are encouraged to dance, sing along and request songs, making the plaza more than a listening space.
The concerts will take place in San Jacinto Plaza, a brick-paved alleyway in downtown with open space for attendees. The city is asking guests to respect the stage area and not chalk the walls or structures, a reminder that the free series depends on shared use of a public space that sits close to the businesses and walkways of the downtown core.
Parking should be simpler than many downtown events. The city says public parking is available behind The Center at 108 E. Washington Street, with more than 100 spaces and an easy crosswalk to the plaza. For families trying to plan dinner, a concert and an easy exit, that lot will be one of the most practical options all summer.
Weather decisions will be made by 6:00 p.m. on concert evenings, giving concertgoers a clear cutoff before heading downtown. The series also fits into a larger free-summer-entertainment push by the city, which says the San Jacinto Music Series and Concert by the Lake at The Harbor together offer more than 60 free concerts.
The calendar places the series alongside other major downtown events, including Founders Day on May 16, when Rockwall will mark its 172nd birthday. With free concerts, an established downtown parking plan and a full slate of summer dates, the San Jacinto Music Series will again turn Friday and Saturday nights into a reliable draw for Downtown Rockwall.
