Brunswick sets spring cleanup drop-off day, registration opens April 27
Brunswick residents can clear out mattresses, carpet and other bulky items May 16, but only 75 households can register starting April 27 at 8 a.m.

Brunswick residents will be able to drop off a wide range of bulky household items at the Graham Road Processing Facility on May 16, but only the first 75 people who pre-register will get a spot. The free Residential Designated Items Drop-Off Day will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 49 Graham Road, and the town says residents should follow signs to the back lot because normal processing-facility operations will continue during the event.
The accepted materials list is unusually broad. Brunswick says residents can bring box fans, cabinets with glass, carpet and carpet pad, clothing, doors with glass, furniture, insulation, lamps without bulbs, mattresses and box springs, porcelain, vacuums and windows. The town also allows garage and miscellaneous items including hoses, gardening equipment, fiberglass ladders, trash cans, dog crates, glass, vinyl fencing, lawn furniture, plastics and styrofoam. Casella will operate the collection event.
Pre-registration opens April 27 at 8 a.m., and the town says residents must have a Graham Road Processing Facility pass to sign up. Those passes can only be obtained on site. Brunswick is pointing residents to Public Works at 207-725-6654 with questions and to the town website for normal hours and accepted materials. The Graham Road Processing Facility is open year-round on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and residential users pay a $5 annual sticker to use it.
The event lands as Brunswick continues to shift more of its yard and disposal traffic to Graham Road. The leaf and grass pile at Public Works on Industry Road closed permanently on Jan. 1, after the town said the site did not meet Maine Department of Environmental Protection requirements and could not be upgraded. Brunswick also hosts two household hazardous waste collection days each year, and its spring 2026 event was scheduled for April 25, giving residents a narrow window to handle both hazardous waste and bulky cleanup items this season.
