Banyan Tree Krabi Hosts Visiting Yoga Practitioners Gabrielle Mendoza and Khun Jimmy
Banyan Tree Krabi added a three-day Visiting Practitioner residency with Yuttana “Jimmy” Poncharoen for 11–13 March 2026 and previously hosted Gabrielle Mendoza’s 10-day residency in December 2024.

Banyan Tree Krabi has expanded its Wellbeing Sanctuary residencies with a three-day Visiting Practitioner residency led by Yuttana Poncharoen (Khun Jimmy), scheduled for 11–13 March 2026. The resort’s events listing frames the programme as a short, intensive option alongside longer visiting-practitioner stays the property hosts.
The programme notes describe Jimmy’s approach in clear, practice-forward terms: “Rooted in Vinyasa yoga, each session links movement, breath, and awareness through conscious flow.” The listing adds that “Thoughtful sequences balance effort and ease, strength and softness,” and that “Drawing on yogic tradition and insights into the nervous system, Jimmy guides guests to build resilience, clarity, and presence.” The residency is listed as “open to all levels,” positioning it as accessible to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.
Banyan Tree Krabi lists Yuttana Poncharoen as a Director at Fitness Innovations Thailand. The resort announced the residency as part of its ongoing Visiting Practitioner programming, which places teachers on short residencies to deliver focused series of classes and workshops.
The Jimmy residency arrives against a backdrop of curated wellbeing offerings at the resort. Banyan Tree Krabi’s Wellbeing Sanctuary, initiated in 2021, is built around eight pillars: Nourishment; Movement; Mindfulness; Rest; Groundedness; Growth; Connection; Practice. The property sits on Tubkaek Beach, some 25 km west of the town of Krabi, and comprises 72 pool suites and villas, including seven two-bedroom options, one three-bedroom villa, and a seven-bedroom Presidential Beachfront Pool Villa. The spa has received high-profile recognition, with the Banyan Tree Spa Krabi singled out in listings as one of Thailand’s most luxurious and the hotel accredited with two Keys in inaugural national hotel listings. Gabrielle Mendoza’s residency materials also highlight The Rainforest, described as Krabi’s first hydrotherapy spa.

The Jimmy announcement follows a previous visiting-practitioner residency by Gabrielle Mendoza, who taught at Banyan Tree Krabi from 6–15 December 2024. Mendoza is identified as principal trainer for Restorative Yoga at Pure Yoga Singapore and creator of Uncovering the Oasis Within. She described her residency intention in first person: “During my 10-day visiting practitioner residency, I will be offering a plethora of practices that will take you on a journey back to homeostasis - where you learn the art of holding space for yourself to unravel as you need, without fear or judgment, so that the body can fulfill its own healing potential and recuperate naturally from anxiety, burnout, chronic pain and insomnia.” A profile line also records that Mendoza “crumbled under the stress of the corporate world” before turning to yoga as a vocation. Her classes combined Vinyasa, meditation, sound healing and signature restorative work aimed at stress relief, sleep support, flexibility and overall wellbeing.
For readers interested in on-site retreats and short-form teacher residencies, Banyan Tree Krabi’s calendar now offers both longer, restorative programmes and compact, nervous-system-informed Vinyasa intensives. Contact Banyan Tree Krabi for session times, capacity and booking; expect the resort’s Visiting Practitioner model to continue bringing varied teachers and modalities to Tubkaek Beach through 2026.
