IGN Fan Fest's seventh edition ran as a two-day livestream on February 25-26, 2026 and delivered over 80 reveals across games, movies and TV, a show filled with exclusive reveals, trailers, gameplay, deep dives, and interviews with the incredible creators behind your favorite movies, shows, games, comics, and anime. The event format was livestream-first, with segmented drops that grouped trailers, gameplay premieres, and developer deep dives across both days.

The biggest spotlight came early when Karl Urban helped kick off the show by introducing the brand new trailer for Mortal Kombat II. "In the footage you can see above, we get to see Urban's Johnny Cage looking quite unhappy at a fan convention before finding himself battling other realms in a fighting tournament." Mortal Kombat II will be released in theaters on May 8, 2026.

Indie and midtier reveals also got major placement. Flesh & Wire made its grand debut at Fan Fest as an upcoming first-person shooter described as delving into the psychological horror roots of the Postal series. The segment framed player progression around a central character: players will become Angel, a "hapless victim suddenly swept up in a fever dream of conspiracy and blood as she seeks answers and vengeance against the crazed gunman who changed her life forever." Flesh & Wire is slated for release in 2027.

Franchise and licensed properties included two Warhammer announcements. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 offered an exclusive first look at the Daemons of Slaanesh and Death Guard in a fast-paced retro FPS sequel, and it will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2026. A separate alpha gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy presented an early look at a party-based, story-driven cRPG in which players become an acolyte of the Inquisition to lead investigations, uncover grand conspiracies, master tactical combat, and wage a secret war against heresy.

Multiplayer and seasonal releases were highlighted as well. Mistfall Hunter is a dark fantasy action extraction RPG heading to Steam, Xbox, and the Microsoft Store in July 2026 and lets you and up to three fellow Gyldhunters venture into the Gyldenmist for the best loot possible. Tears of Metal introduced a new character, Ruadh, whose hammer can smash through shields, shatter armor, and knock enemies away; Tears of Metal will be released on PC and a demo is now available. Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes was announced with a spring 2026 release window.

Gameplay trailers varied from cozy to absurd. Gate Guard Simulator showed medieval job-sim mechanics where you inspect people and cargo to stop troublemakers from passing through your town gates. Bus Simulator 27 ran an official announcement trailer alongside a moment that included TT Games Head of Production and Strategic Director Jonathan Smith saying, "Look, I want to play that game [GTA 6], but we're also really glad to have some space for people to play Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. We're giving you an open city and a fantastic experience for all players. Which I thoroughly recommend."

Fan Fest also threaded pop culture and merch through the showcase: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight appeared among the biggest announcements, 007 First Light and Project 007 showed up in related cinematic headlines, Scream 7 and Project Hail Mary were listed among major items, and McFarlane Toys revealed new Poppy Playtime figures.

With multiple release windows now pinned to 2026 and one major title set for 2027, the post-Fan Fest calendar includes Mortal Kombat II in theaters on May 8, Boltgun 2 arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2026, Mistfall Hunter in July 2026 on Steam, Xbox, and the Microsoft Store, and Flesh & Wire in 2027, while Tears of Metal's PC demo is available now. Expect follow-up developer deep dives and storefront pages to fill in platforms and firm dates after these initial reveals.
