Nimble TTRPG returns to Kickstarter for second printing and expanded books
Nimble returned to Kickstarter to fund a revised second printing and a much larger expansion, promising faster play, new monsters, classes, and adventures for 5e tables.

Nimble, the compact TTRPG that trims prep and speeds combat for D&D 5th edition groups, is back on Kickstarter to finance a revised second printing and expanded books. Creator Evan Diaz designed Nimble to be a pick-up-and-play toolkit for GMs who want less prep and more table time, and the campaign promises reprints with edits plus substantial new content.
The original Nimble launched in 2023 and sold out its first print run. The core rules are deliberately small at 55 pages while the Game Master’s Guide runs 112 pages and is described as packed with adventure ideas. The Kickstarter will reprint those books with errata, art updates, and quality-of-life changes, and will add a larger Monsters & More book along with a slate of new materials.
Backers are being promised at least 10 new adventures with additional scenarios likely unlocked via stretch goals, and the campaign copy repeatedly emphasizes "hundreds of new monsters." Designers also promise new heroic classes and a list of expansion content that includes "loot items, optional rules, new hero classes, as well as bunches of adventures." The site advertises six brand new spell schools and says that "the HUNDREDS of D&D spells have been streamlined into a few dozen new spells," plus "Secret Spells lost to time or too powerful for common knowledge" for GMs who want to alter tone or stakes.
Nimble’s combat philosophy is a clear selling point for groups tired of long attack-roll bookkeeping. The project page states: "You are heroes! Attacks. Just. Hit. Don’t waste your time rolling to see if you can deal damage, just roll your damage dice! You deal that much damage. Attacks miss on a 1, but rolling the maximum is an EXPLODING Critical Hit!" That simplification is presented alongside an explicit claim of 5e compatibility - "Nimble is compatible with all of your existing 5e Adventure Modules, Monsters Books, and Supplements."
Diaz framed the project around GM ease of use, saying that Nimble is "made with GMs in mind where you can pick it up and play right away and it’s going to be fun, and it gives the heroes lots of options and open-ended things and ways to affect the story. It doesn’t feel like a second job that you have to do in order to prep a good session. All that prep is done for you."

Kickstarter-specific offerings include a Free Creator’s Kit that combines physical and digital materials, and an All-In Deluxe tier that bundles a five-book special-edition set with extra table aids. The campaign page notes Kickstarter’s Pledge Over Time option for pledges of $125 or more. A captured funding snapshot on the campaign page shows "28 days left • 123% funded," a time-sensitive figure that will change as the campaign runs. Icarus Games is listed in the shipping and fulfillment block.
For GMs and players, Nimble’s relaunch matters for two reasons: it makes a streamlined alternative to full 5e available in physical form again, and it promises a large body of new content that could slot into existing campaigns. The campaign page uses clear marketing language - including promises of a "TON of new Nimble content" and planned stretch goals such as "1 SPICY new mystery class" - but several specifics remain unnamed on the page. The new heroic classes are not listed by name, the precise monster roster is unrevealed, and the headline mention of pets or companion rules is not detailed in the captured campaign text.
If you want to evaluate Nimble for your table, check the live Kickstarter for current funding, exact pledge amounts, shipping zones, and any backer previews showing new-class names or bestiary samples. The relaunch is a strong signal that streamlined, tactical 5e-compatible tools remain in demand, and Nimble’s second printing could be a quick way to add faster combat and a large new trove of adventures to your game nights.
