Hatchet Hangout sets 2026 Endless Summer Tournament for WATL weekend

Hatchet Hangout will turn late August into a three-day WATL weekend with Big Axe, duals and an amateur hatchet finish, giving local throwers and traveling competitors the same calendar slot at one venue. The Endless Summer Tournament is listed for Aug. 28-30, and the format is built to pull in anyone from first-time entrants to athletes chasing a podium result.

Friday opens with a meet-and-greet and practice session from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with equipment checks available for attendees. That matters in sanctioned axe throwing, where setup and equipment control can shape the first official throws before the bracket tightens.

Saturday is the competitive core. Big Axe starts at 9:00 a.m., followed by duals at 1:00 p.m., putting the weekend’s most demanding WATL formats back-to-back on the same card. WATL tournament regulations call for match play that is best 2 out of 3 games, and Hatchet Hangout’s league information says the venue is a proud WATL member that offers Single, Duals and Big Axe leagues with certified coaches on site.

Sunday closes with the amateur hatchet tournament, with check-in at 8:00 a.m. and warm-ups at 8:30 a.m. That early start signals a tightly run field and gives newer throwers a defined path into the weekend’s final competition block.

The prize pool adds another layer to the draw. A related WATL Facebook-group result said the Endless Summer purse was expected to exceed $20,000, with the previous Endless Summer tournament carrying a guaranteed $10,000 payout. That kind of money helps explain why a local event can pull outside interest and why Hatchet Hangout is positioning the weekend as part of the Atlantic Region’s broader 2026 circuit rather than a one-off throw night.

Hatchet Hangout is also framing the tournament inside a wider seasonal push. Its tournaments page says the venue is presenting four epic tournaments across two incredible venues for the Atlantic Region, and its main site lists 15 lanes, seven-day-a-week operations and service in both St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida. The St. Pete location says sessions are run by trained WATL-certified coaches, while the pricing page says summer pricing runs through Aug. 31, 2026, placing the tournament at the tail end of the venue’s discounted season.

Promotional material has also surfaced with Aug. 22-23 and Aug. 29-30 versions of the Endless Summer dates, but the event listing itself is set for Aug. 28-30. For Hatchet Hangout, that makes the weekend a late-summer showcase with sanctioned competition, amateur entry points and a prize structure that should keep the lanes busy from Friday night through Sunday morning.
