CrossFit Age Group Semifinals close, leaderboard review begins for Games invites
The Age Group Online Semifinals have closed, but nobody on the bubble is safe yet. CrossFit will spend the next two weeks reviewing videos before San Jose invites are locked.

The window closed on the Age Group Online Semifinals, and the real sorting starts now. Athletes in the Masters and Teenage divisions had until 3:00 p.m. Eastern on May 11 to submit scores for five workouts, but CrossFit will not treat those places as final until every video has been reviewed and the leaderboard is locked no later than May 26, 2026.
That review matters because the semifinal was built on video validation, not just fast times. Every score submission had to include video, both judges on the floor had to hold at least an L1 or OL1 and the Advanced Judges Course, and the workout passwords were emailed at 11:45 a.m. PT on May 7. CrossFit also allows athletes to remove videos after the leaderboard is locked, but if a video is unavailable during review, the workout can be scored zero. In a qualifier this tight, that is the kind of ruling that can move an athlete from safe to sunk.
The cutoff is different by division, and that is where the pressure sits. The top 15 athletes in both the 35-39 and 40-44 Masters brackets will earn invitations. The top 10 in the 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65-69 brackets will move on, while only the top five in the 70-plus division will advance. In the teenage fields, the top 20 athletes in both 14-15 and 16-17 will qualify. These are not huge cushions; they are cut lines, and the review period is where a borderline score can flip the board.

That uncertainty is baked into CrossFit’s season structure. The 2026 Age-Group Quarterfinals already narrowed the field to the top 400 athletes in the 35-54 divisions and the top 300 in the 14-17 and 55-plus divisions before Semifinals. The 2026 season is CrossFit’s 20th, and age groups and teams have live Games-qualifying opportunities this year, which makes every divisional score carry real weight. The Age-Group Online Semifinals are the last qualifying stage for the 2026 Masters CrossFit Games and the 2026 Teenage CrossFit Games in San Jose, California.
Those Games dates are already set. The Masters CrossFit Games run July 21-23 at the SAP Center and San Jose McEnery Convention Center, followed by the Teenage CrossFit Games July 24-26 in San Jose. For athletes hovering near the edge, the leaderboard may look finished, but nothing is secure until the review is done and the invites go out.
