Leaked images and packaging gave pilots an early look at DJI’s Lito 1 and Lito X1, a compact new camera-drone family that looked set to bridge the gap between the Neo 2 and the Mini 5 Pro. The reveal mattered because it showed DJI still pressing deeper into the entry-level and midrange market with small, foldable aircraft built for convenience as much as capability.

DJI later confirmed the Lito series on April 23, 2026, and positioned both models as beginner-friendly aerial camera drones aimed at aspiring creators, not racing pilots. Even so, the launch lands squarely in the wider drone ecosystem that FPV and racing fans track closely, because every new compact platform can reshape controller sales, battery demand, firmware support, and accessory compatibility across the market.

The Lito X1 came in as the more capable model, with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and forward-facing LiDAR. The Lito 1 used a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor and recorded 4K video at 60 frames per second, plus still images up to 8K. DJI also said the Lito 1 folded to palm size, weighed under 249 grams, and delivered 36 minutes of flight time with the standard battery, a combination that keeps it in the category of ultra-portable drones built for fast deployment rather than heavy rigs.

Pricing sharpened the picture. DJI listed the Lito 1 at $309 and the Lito X1 at $379. The Lito X1 Fly More Combo was priced at $539 with the DJI RC-N3, $639 with the DJI RC 2, and $709 for the Fly More Combo Plus with the DJI RC 2. That ladder suggests DJI wanted a clean entry point for new buyers while still giving them a clear path to higher-margin bundles.

The launch also exposed how uneven DJI’s rollout remained in the United States. The Lito line was not going to market there yet because of ongoing FCC-related uncertainty, even as discounted older models such as the Neo, Mini 4K, Mini 3, Flip, and Avata 2 stayed on shelves. In practical terms, that meant U.S. pilots faced a familiar DJI choice: wait for a new compact platform that might not arrive soon, or buy down into current inventory at lower prices. DJI had already fueled the anticipation on April 14 with a teaser built around the words “Just Fly,” along with #DJILito, #DJILitoX1 and #DJILito1, underlining how closely the company’s release cycle is now watched by the entire drone market.
