monday.com is trying to collapse a familiar workday habit into a single chat window: ask a question, see the answer, and act on it without hopping back to another tab. In a January 27 post, monday engineering showed a monday.com dashboard rendered directly inside ChatGPT, where a user could check project status, tap a status widget and drill into a filtered table while staying in the same conversation.

That matters because it shifts the product question from whether AI can sit on top of work to where work should appear at all. monday.com said it worked alongside Anthropic to join the MCP Apps launch as one of the connectors, tying its own platform to an industry push for standard ways to connect AI assistants to the systems where data lives. Anthropic introduced the Model Context Protocol in November 2024 as an open standard, and OpenAI later added apps in ChatGPT and the Apps SDK so apps can run inside conversations with embedded interfaces and context-aware surfacing.

For monday.com, the move looks less like a one-off demo than the next step in a broader platform bet. The company announced its own MCP integration in May 2025, saying users could connect an AI agent of their choice to monday.com boards, build custom agents and plug AI features into apps. Its support docs say the monday MCP app is available across all monday.com plans and is installed from the monday marketplace via OAuth. That combination suggests monday.com wants its workflows available wherever employees already spend time, not only inside the monday app itself.

The first people likely to feel the difference are project managers, sales ops teams and support leads, the roles that spend their days checking status, filtering records and chasing handoffs. For them, the value is not just a prettier interface in ChatGPT. It is workflow compression: fewer context switches, faster answers and a shorter path from question to action. The harder question is governance. Teams adopting this model will need to decide which boards can surface in ChatGPT, how OAuth permissions are scoped, whether chat-based actions inherit monday.com’s existing access controls and how those actions are audited.

The timing also fits monday.com’s scale. The company said fourth-quarter 2025 revenue reached $333.9 million, up 25% year over year, and full-year revenue grew 27%. It also said monday vibe became the fastest product in company history to cross $1 million in ARR, while customers with more than $50,000 in ARR now account for 41% of total ARR. With more than 250,000 customers worldwide, monday.com is not just experimenting with AI surfaces. It is trying to turn them into a distribution channel.

That broader industry shift is moving fast. In December 2025, Anthropic said MCP was being donated to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation, with support from major cloud and AI players. The message for monday.com is clear: as software moves into chat, the competitive edge will belong to the products that can travel there with their data, permissions and actions intact.
